HALO 3 IS GOING TO BE AWWWESOMMEEEE I already have it on pre-order for double reward points at Game.co.uk and I REEEALLLLLLYYYY can't wait to play it. I'm cringing at the thought that it will be at least another SIX MONTHS before I get my grubby hands on it. that thought depresses me, where's my friend Jack (Daniels) when I need him?
While on the loo (also known as the thinking throne) I came up with an insane idea to save the planet.
CREATE LUXURIOUS HABITATS IN DESERT REGIONS!!
Under all that sand out there in places like the sahara etc.. is an incredibly fertile topsoil and all that is needed really is human intervention and craploads of water. How they would get this water I shall explain later.
If the governments of northern africa could find the funds, they could through technology create huge areas of farmland, which they could use to support the populace of the entire continent, thus crushing the continent's reliance on rich nations for food aid and then enabling them to concentrate on things like education, housing, health service, things that we all here in the UK take for granted but so many people around the world are desperate to have.
Now the issue of where this water would come from. It would basically be obtainable through de-salinisation plants.
As many of you would know, about 70% of the world's surface is covered by water, that's 1,400,000,000,000,000 litres of water....... that's a flipping lot lol, don't know if that includs the ice caps in the north and south, sooo... a crapload of de-salinisation plants would reduce the level the planet's oceans? very interesting thought that
Back on track.... so, after a while, the transpiration from the crops in the farms would create extra rainfall meaning that the de-salinisation plants could eventually be de-commissioned and transformed into renewable energy power plants or something productive.
completely insane off the wall suggestion, maybe i should get some figures down on this one. might write to the bbc to see if they would do a documentary.
